Facial acupuncture is a gentle, holistic approach to supporting healthy, radiant skin from the inside out—while honoring and enhancing your unique beauty. Rooted in East Asian medical theory, this treatment looks beyond the surface, taking physical, emotional, and psycho-spiritual imbalances into account to promote whole-body harmony.

Your first session includes a thorough health intake and diagnostic assessment to help us understand the deeper patterns influencing your skin. We’ll focus on your personal goals—whether it's softening fine lines, enhancing tone and texture, balancing facial anatomy, or restoring your natural glow—while supporting the internal systems that contribute to skin health.

Each session includes facial and body acupuncture to promote circulation, collagen production, and systemic balance. Treatments also feature gua sha, Celluma professional-grade red or blue light therapy, and luxury herbal skincare tailored to your needs. Follow-up sessions build on your progress, offering a deeply restorative experience that helps you look and feel your best—naturally.

For optimal results, a series of 10 sessions is recommended. Please note: it’s best to avoid wearing makeup for the rest of the day after your treatment—plan accordingly for your body and skin to fully absorb the benefits.

Important Notes:
Facial acupuncture can complement cosmetic injectables like Botox or fillers but should be scheduled at least 6–8 weeks after those treatments. It is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or who experience chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, seizures, high blood pressure, or who are taking blood thinners.

Hair loss and thinning can feel deeply personal—but you’re not alone, and you don’t have to rely on harsh chemicals or invasive procedures to see results. Rooted in East Asian medicine, this treatment supports your body’s natural ability to restore and regrow hair by addressing the internal and external imbalances that affect scalp and hair health.

Your first session includes a full health intake and diagnostic assessment so we can identify the root causes—whether hormonal, stress-related, postpartum, or constitutional—and create a care plan designed for long-term support. We'll focus on nourishing the systems that influence healthy hair growth, including Kidney energy, Blood, and Liver Qi.

Each treatment includes scalp and body acupuncture, Celluma professional-grade red light therapy, herbal scalp gua sha, and personalized herbal and lifestyle guidance. Over time, this combination works to increase circulation, activate hair follicles, and extend the hair growth cycle for fuller, stronger hair.

A series of 6–12 weekly sessions is recommended to achieve optimal results, with spacing gradually shifting to biweekly or monthly based on your goals. Ongoing maintenance can be discussed as needed.

Please note: Hair Restoration Acupuncture is not recommended for those who are pregnant, or who experience chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, seizures, high blood pressure, or are currently taking blood thinners.

Experience the traditional art of fire cupping—a deeply therapeutic technique that uses warmth and suction to relieve tension, improve circulation, and support your body’s natural detoxification process. Glass or ceramic cups are briefly heated with flame to create a gentle vacuum, then placed on the skin to draw up underlying tissues. This encourages blood flow, eases muscle tightness, enhances immune function, and promotes relaxation at a deep level.

Ideal for muscle soreness, stress relief, stagnation, and respiratory support. You may notice circular marks after treatment—these are not bruises, but signs of improved circulation and healing.

Dr. Darby Sherman is a licensed Acupuncturist with a specialization in East Asian herbal medicine. As an Asian American, she was exposed to East Asian medicine at a young age, which played a significant role in healing a chronic condition. This early exposure sparked her passion for the healing arts and later inspired her journey to East Asian Medicine.

Her career path within geriatric social services took her to work in hospice care as a Spiritual Counselor, where her experiences with end-stage disease profoundly influenced her perspective on healing. This exposure ignited her curiosity about preventative medical practices and the ways in which holistic healthcare can empower people to maintain vitality throughout their lives.

Dr. Sherman earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a focus on gerontology and mental health from California State University, Fullerton. She later pursued her Master’s and Doctorate at the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Hawai‘i, where she deepened her expertise in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other East Asian healing modalities such as fire cupping, moxibustion, nutritional therapy, and tuina. Additionally, Dr. Sherman is trained as a Mindful Forgiveness facilitator through The Practice Center and Stanford Forgiveness Project, recognizing the transformative power of forgiveness in healing emotional and physical health.

Her practice, Hua Jai Medicine—meaning “heart” in Thai—reflects her belief that true healing is more than just physical. It is a nurturing process, fed by rest, joy, community, and connection. Dr. Sherman creates a sanctuary where her clients can reconnect with themselves, the natural world, and their role within it, offering a refuge for both body and spirit.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Darby enjoys traveling with her partner, drinking way too much tea, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She cherishes visits with loved ones in Hilo, Hawaii, where her roots remain strong.
